Speculations that the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) officials will reveal the name of politician have been spreading since last night. This is following a police report lodged by Dato Sri Najib Razak against the agency.
Najib made the shocking revelation when he stated that there were certain instructions from politician to IRB officials to impose tax penalties on him.
According to a police report lodged by Najib, he named the Director General of the IRB and several officers as the people who conspired to charge him and his family members.
The IRB officers involved are believed to have violated Section 167, Section 192, Section 196, Section 197 of the Penal Code.
They also violated Section 23 of the MACC Act which involves abuse of power and use of false documents.
Even more shocking, a top IRB official is said to have gifted a luxury car worth half a million ringgit to his own wife.
Was the vehicle part of the remuneration from the politician involved in giving instructions to charge Najib and his family?
Najib, meanwhile, invited any individual, especially tax auditors to personally examine his income tax report.
The IRB officers involved should come forward to lodge a counter police report if they feel that Najib did not make a fair report against them.
The IRB officers should also reveal the name of the politician who gave the instructions as alleged by Najib.
