4 Melaka assemblymen met Anwar Ibrahim recently

The 4 state assemblymen who withdrew their support from the Melaka Perikatan Nasional administration had met with opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently.

Former Sungai Udang assemblyman Datuk Seri Idris Haron confirmed it today, following a picture being circulated on social media showing him and the three other state assemblymen who had withdrawn their support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, last Monday, meeting Anwar.

“It was a regular meeting with PH (Pakatan Harapan), introducing the four state assemblymen who had changed (their support for the Melaka) government. (We) had dinner, that’s all.

“The meeting did not discuss any offer to join PKR… but (it is) more of an introductory session and talk about the current political situation,”

The meeting was believed to have been held at a hotel in Kota Laksamana two days ago, also attended by Melaka PH chairman Adly Zahari.

Idris, who is also a former chief minister, said Anwar at the meeting had also advised the four of them to remain patient and leave everything to the courts.

He said Anwar also told them that their struggle was more to uphold the truth and prevent evil, as well as fighting for justice.

“I do adhere to that principle, even when I was in Umno. I followed the principle of universal equality.

“The principle is the same, but maybe the methodology is a little different,” he said.
