Realme GT 2 Pro flagship ‘Crusher’
Originally launched in China back in January before having its international launch at the end of February, Realme GT 2 Pro is finally heading into our market on 24 March. Aside from revealing the phone’s Malaysian launch date, realme has also claimed in its press note that the phone will be the most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phone in Malaysia.
Before we go further, let’s see what other components have been listed in the phone’s general specifications. The GT 2 Pro features a paper-like back cover which was designed by realme’s long-time collaborator, Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa and made from a bio-based copolymer resin called LNP ELCRIN from Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC)
However, this material is only used for the Paper White and Paper Green version of the phone. realme has also crafted a third variant for GT 2 Pro called Steel Black which carries anti-glare glass on its back instead, although it is not known at the moment if the company will launch all three variants in our market or otherwise.
In addition to having a 6.7-inch 120Hz LTPO2 AMOLED display with 3216 x 1440 (WQHD+) resolution and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the phone also can be obtained with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS3.1-based internal storage.
For photography, the GT Pro 2’s main camera is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and f/1.8 6P lens while its secondary ultra-wide camera also features a 50MP sensor alongside an f/2.2 6P lens. The rear camera module is also equipped with a 3MP f/3.3 microscope camera that provides up to 40x magnification.
On the top left part of its screen, there is also a 32MP f/2.4 selfie camera. GT 2 Pro also features a dual-battery setup that provides the phone with a total battery capacity of 5000mAh which can be fully charged in just 33 minutes when using the accompanying 65W SuperDart charger.
Calling its new flagship phone the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device in Malaysia is certainly bold on realme’s part. In order for its claim to be true, the GT Pro 2 have to beat the Motorola Edge 30 Pro which is currently going for RM2,699.
