PUTRAJAYA: Six persons, including five Armed Forces officers, have been arrested for alleged corruption and making false claims involving the supply of weapons totalling more than RM550,000.
It is learnt the suspects, in their 30s and 40s, were arrested at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Kuala Lumpur at about 10pm on Wednesday (July 26) night.
The sixth suspect is a company manager.
“All the suspects are believed to have been involved in making false claims last year for nonexistent supply,” said a source.
A remand order of seven days until Aug 2 was issued by Magistrate Wong Chai Sia for five suspects following an application by MACC prosecutors.
One suspect was released on bail because of health issues.
Kuala Lumpur MACC director Mohamad Fauzi Husin confirmed the arrest.
