Minister Arrives Late For Press Conference, People Wait For Almost 3 Hours
Two ministers were supposed to attend an event at 2.30 pm.
However, the ministers were late by over 3 hours, making reporters wait for their scheduled press conference to commence.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Human Resource Minister V. Sivakumar were supposed to attend the press conference held at the latter’s ministry in Putrajaya.
The delay was highlighted on social media and garnered much attention.
At the time of writing, the tweet had more than 457,000 views.
Many netizens slammed the ministers for the discourtesy.
They added that the ministers should instead be hard-working, diligent and rise to the highest possible standards as they are voted in and salaries paid for by taxpayers.
The media have been critical of ministers in the newly elected government after a series of gaffes.
In December last year, Digital Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil was criticised for answering a phone call during a press conference.
The incident was reminiscent of his boss, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Tambun MP received a call from Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his first press conference as PM.
