In an unexpected turn of events, a woman gave birth at the waiting area of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang, creating a unique and heartwarming moment amidst the usual airport hustle.

In a Facebook post, Malaysia Airports said when the incident happened, the airport’s Aviation Security (AVSEC) and Customer Experience Management (CEM) teams had acted swiftly and immediately assisted the woman who was in labour.

They then called a medical officer from the Health Ministry (KKM) and Medilife Paramedic for treatment and examination.

It said the mother and her newborn child were then rushed to the Serdang hospital.

“Wow, someone gave birth! Recently, KLIA Terminal 1 was surprised with the news of a passenger who gave birth to her child in the waiting area.

“Congratulations AVSEC, CEM, Terminal Services Department, KKM, Medlife and others for the prompt and efficient action,” Malaysia Airports said in the post with a photo of a personnel holding the newborn baby.
