KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a video of a Proton Iriz posted on Twitter by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s daughter Nurul Ilham, which she said was driven haphazardly.

Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Anbalagan said in the video, the Iriz was moving on the right lane at a slow speed and the driver applied the brake several times while on the same lane.

The act, captured on camera along at KM307 of the North-South Expressway towards Seremban, did not cause any accident or injuries to both parties, he said.

“Both the drivers (including Nurul Ilham) will be summoned to have their statements recorded to facilitate investigation under Section 6(2) of the Road Traffic Rules (LN) 166/1959 for the offence of overtaking and preventing another to overtake.

“Those with information on the incident are urged to go to Serdang traffic police station to assist investigation,” he said in a statement.

Earlier, Nurul Ilham in a Twitter post said the road bully was a woman driving a Proton Iriz.

She also shared a 14-second video of the incident.

The Iriz, which was in front of her car, was seen pressing the brake several times while in the fast lane.

“I don’t usually post these things but I was bullied on the road today. This car kept on pressing the brakes on the fastest lane.

“Super dangerous and I had my two-year-old with me.

“Was there for a good one minute before she (yes, she) changed to the next lane,” she wrote.

Nurul Ilham said she first saw the car near a toll gate (the location of which Nurul Ilham did not specify) when the woman sounded the horn at her for going towards the Touch ‘n Go lane.

“I had signaled to go to the left, but I didn’t see any signal of her going right (towards the SmartTAG lane). Guess she was mad about that.”

The post drew the attention of Twitter users, with some of them urging her to file a police report.
