Rock on with hijabi metal band Voice of Baceprot this weekend

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian hijab-clad rock trio Voice Of Baceprot will hold a concert this Sunday at Zepp Kuala Lumpur.

The band, comprising Marsya (vocals and guitar), Widi (bass) and Sitti (drummer), will be performing for the first time here when they stage the Voice Of Baceport Live in Kuala Lumpur concert this weekend.

The band caught Indonesian music fans’ attention with their fresh rendition of songs originally performed by international metal bands, such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot and Metallica.

The girls have broken various stereotypes of what makes a metal band, starting with their hijabs.

At the upcoming concert, the trio will perform their singles, which include School Revolution; God, Allow Me (Please) To Play Music; (Not) Public Property; and PMS – Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya.

The concert is organised by Pentas 365, with the cooperation of event promoter LampuNeon.
