Taxi driver arrested after molesting female cop in food court
AMPANG: A taxi driver was arrested after he was suspected of having molested a policewoman at a food court in Lembah Keramat Taman Melawati, here yesterday.
In the 10.55am incident, the policewoman, 31, was in the midst of selecting her food from a stall when the taxi driver allegedly molested her from behind.
When the cop confronted him, the 58-year-old man denied having done anything and walked away before sitting down at another table.
Ampang Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak, said the policewoman reported the matter to her colleagues, who promptly arrested the man.
The man is now being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outraging the modesty of another person.
If charged and found guilty, he could face a maximum of 10 years imprisonment, whipping or any of the two punishments.
