Mira Filzah’s husband to contests for Umno Youth Exco
KUALA LUMPUR – Wan Emir Astar Wan Mohamad Khair-il Anuar confirms his candidature for the Umno Youth Exco position in the party election next month.

The husband of famous celebrity Nur Amirah Filzah Badioezaman, also known as Mira Filzah said the decision was made to bring change in the party.
“I sent the application to offer myself as an Umno Youth Exco. Allah moved my heart towards attempting to offer my services to Umno.
“I want to try to restore confidence in the party following the recent general election (GE),” he told reporters at Menara Dato’ Onn, the World Trade Centre (WTC), on Sunday.
Umno Secretary General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said on Jan 28 that the Umno election would begin from Feb 1 to March 18.

Ahmad added the registration dates for candidates to contest in the division, and the central competition began on Feb 13, 2023 and will be closed on Feb 26, 2023 at 5pm.
Emir who is the son of former Kuala Kangsar MP Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid said his strength and energy will be fully contributed towards the party if he is given the chance to hold the position.
“I want to try and see how I can offer my services to Umno youth, especially with Undi 18 and such, maybe a new approach could be used to attract voters in the future.
“Let’s see what (possible) rebranding can be done and what we can do for Umno,” he explained.
Last Friday, Kulai Umno division member Norazuah Saadon who is also the wife of the Search band’s Bass player Nasir Daud, volunteered to run for the Umno Wanita Exco position for the party’s election in the 2023/2026 term.
An Umno Online report stated the registration form was sent by Nasir in the Menara Dato’ Onn Auditorium on Thursday.
