PETALING JAYA: It is ethically and morally wrong to reinstate the aides of Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar (pic), says Bersatu information chief Datuk Razali Idris.

“My advice to this government is to please stop the hypocrisy of practicing a different set of rules for different people,” he said.

“I am also certain that if this government is the opposition, they will be protesting the reinstatement as they know how ethically and morally wrong this is,” added Razali when contacted on Sunday (April 23).

This comes amidst a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) probe into two of Sivakumar’s aides that began last week.

Checks on the ministry’s website showed that the names of the three aides to Sivakumar were there, despite being initially removed from the website on April 16.

The two officers who were probed by the anti-graft body were a special functions officer and a private secretary, and both were remanded to assist in investigations into foreign worker recruitment but have since been released.

The name of the third aide, who was also a special functions officer, was also removed last week.

However, this aide was not linked to the probe and sources said the officer was told to go on leave.

The special functions officer and private secretary were recently arrested in connection with a case involving the recruitment of foreign workers.
