PETALING JAYA: Former Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Annuar Musa has continued his criticism against some of his party colleagues, now claiming there are some Umno leaders who are trying to “privatise” the party.

He slammed what he called “people writing their own narratives in the tower” – believed to be referring to Umno’s headquarters at Menara Dato Onn, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) – whom he said were busy crafting stories to legitimise the actions of these leaders.

“The party’s decision has been so easily breached and they have got away with no action taken,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The Ketereh MP also claimed there were ongoing tactics and efforts to scare Umno members into thinking the party needed to be protected from the influence of PPBM and PAS.

He said there was no need for such efforts as Umno will continue to remain strong as long as the party is not exploited and continues to be led by leaders who were “accepted by the people”.

The federal territories minister previously claimed he had proof that Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had written to the King in support of Anwar Ibrahim becoming prime minister, in an effort to oust the Perikatan Nasional government.

His revelation was made on the same day that Zahid was scheduled to have a meeting with Umno division chiefs, most of whom have been reported to be against working with PPBM.
