Puad should show some decorum, says Noh Omar
PETALING JAYA: A former Selangor Umno leader has hit out at the party’s Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi for labelling his excuse “low class” when justifying his decision to join Bersatu.
Noh Omar said Puad, as the Johor state assembly speaker, should show some decorum.
“If he wants to maintain a certain standard as a speaker, he should not wade too much into politics,” Noh told FMT.
The former Tanjong Karang MP joined Bersatu last week, a year after he was sacked from Umno due to his criticisms of its president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, over Barisan Nasional’s dismal performance in the last general election.
Noh revealed that his disappointment over former prime minister Najib Razak’s failed bid to serve the remainder of his jail sentence for corruption under house arrest was one of the factors that led to him joining Bersatu.

This led to Puad labelling the excuse as “low class” and accused Noh of exploiting Najib’s plight to justify his decision to “defect” to Bersatu as it was reportedly well-known that Noh was not a huge Najib supporter.
Noh then took a swipe at Puad for accusing him of jumping ship, saying the latter did not know how to differentiate between defecting and being sacked.
“I was sacked. It’s akin to being divorced and not a separation. So it’s up to me to find a new partner.”
Puad should show some decorum, says Noh Omar
