PETALING JAYA: The government will only address the issue surrounding the draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) on allocations for opposition MPs after receiving the formal documents from them, says deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof.
“I will wait for him (Takiyuddin Hassan) to give a formal reply first,” he told FMT.
Fadillah was responding to Perikatan Nasional chief whip Takiyuddin, who earlier today said that the MoU contained “strange conditions”, such as requiring MPs to declare their assets and pledging support for the government until the end of the parliamentary term.
FMT had quoted Takiyuddin as saying that PN was still discussing whether to accept the seven conditions proposed by the government in the draft.
Besides assets declaration and support for the government, the MoU also touches upon the 3R issues (race, religion and royalty).

Takiyuddin was previously reported as saying that PN had received the draft MoU.
However, last Monday, Fadillah said he had not received any response from the opposition since sending the draft.
The government had appointed Fadillah to negotiate with the opposition (prior to sending the draft MoU), a practice previously established during the time Ismail Sabri Yaakob was prime minister.
