PETALING JAYA: Selangor executive council member V Papparaidu has defended his order for a police report to be lodged against two state Urimai leaders over a TikTok video.
Papparaidu claimed that the pair had accused him of utilising funds under the state’s Indian Selangor Empowerment and Entrepreneurs Development Programme (iSeed) for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election in May.
“They simply manipulated the issue, it’s totally wrong,” the DAP leader told FMT, adding that he had asked the programme’s head coordinator to file the police report.
“It’s a false allegation against me, the state government and iSeed.

“They should not be giving false information to the public as I have evidence (to rebut their claim).”
Selangor Urimai chief K Gunasekaran and his deputy, K Sunthrraju, were arrested by police yesterday over the TikTok video involving iSeed and Indian Entrepreneur Development Centre (Sitham).
Lawyer L Mehnagha said police were granted a one-day remand order and that the pair would be released today.
She said they are being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insulting behaviour, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988 for improper use of network facilities.
