£13m West Ham player could still leave the club before Friday in shock move

West Ham may not be done in the transfer market just yet – with other windows still open across Europe.
The transfer window in the United Kingdom ended on Friday 30th August at 11pm – although the Turkish deadline is not until Friday 13th September.
As those in Turkey make last minute recruitment plans, a Super Lig giant in Galatasaray are now planning to sign a player from West Ham…
Galatasaray want Emerson Palmieri
A story from Sabah in Turkey now states that Galatasaray want to sign Emerson Palmieri from West Ham before Friday’s deadline.
The Turkish news outlet claim that the Super Lig champions initially hoped to lure Lucas Digne away from Aston Villa, but after the France international turned down a move to Istanbul, the West Ham No.33 is now the preferred option.
Sabah believe Galatasaray are internally considering making contact with West Ham today (Tuesday 10th September) given the lack of time remaining in the transfer window.
Emerson – who West Ham signed in a £13m move from Chelsea back in August 2022 – made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring one goal while also providing two assists from left-back.
West Ham will surely ignore the approach
We would be shocked if West Ham actually entertained talks with Galatasaray for Emerson.
The Italy international is a key man under Julen Lopetegui, starting all three Premier League games so far this season, and seeing as the Hammers are unable to sign an immediate replacement, this deal surely won’t progress beyond an enquiry.
Furthermore, Aaron Cresswell is the only backup option behind Emerson – who AC Milan also wanted to sign recently.
The West Ham No.3 is now 34 years of age and only has ten months remaining on his contract, so we highly doubt Lopetegui would be happy to last until at least January with the England international as his only left-back.
Nevertheless, be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Galatasaray are going to give it a go.
