Liverpool held talks with Real Madrid about Aurelien Tchouameni and Rodrygo
TBR Football understands that Liverpool spoke with Real Madrid about Aurelien Tchouameni and Rodrygo early in the summer, who are both considered ‘world class’ (per Tribuna and Marca).
Sources confirm that no bids were made, but merely that Liverpool were checking in on two players they have a long-standing admiration for.
TBR understands that Liverpool were checking on the situations surrounding both players – but the message from Real was clear, in that neither player was available for transfer.
Carlo Ancelotti, during the summer transfer window, ruled out the possibility of Rodrygo departing.
“He says he is very happy and I have no doubts. So in in that case of the message is something that there is no need for discussion because there is nothing to comment on,” the 65-year-old said.
Rodrygo wants to stay at Real Madrid
Rodrygo has also addressed his future in the media as he made his desire to stay at Real Madrid very clear during the international break.
“I want to win all the titles that I have already won several times. Real Madrid is the best club in the world and that is what motivates me, to be at the level of the best club in the world every day. That is why I get up every day to train and to be better.
“I was upset when I saw they didn’t include me in Ballon d’Or nominees. I think I deserved it. I don’t want to belittle the players who are there, but I think I had a place. It was a surprise… but there is not much I can do, I don’t make decisions.”
