UiTM’s aim to safeguard bumiputra students should not be disrupted, says Wanita Umno
PETALING JAYA: The aim of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) as an entity to safeguard the interests of bumiputra students should not be disrupted and must be maintained, said Wanita Umno.
Wanita Umno chief Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad in a statement said UiTM’s agenda was to upgrade the participation of the bumiputra community in higher education and create professionals, which is part of the country’s education benchmark and its original goal.
“The number of Higher Public Institutions and Higher Private Institutions in this country is enough to cater for all including non-bumiputra.
“As such Umno Wanita calls on all communities to use one’s freedom of speech responsibly and stop trivialising religion and race to the extent of disrupting the country’s harmony,” added Noraini.
