2022 Ducati Panigale V4, V4S takes to the streets

THE latest evolution of Ducati’s definitive sports bike has hit our shores.

The 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 and V4S represent the latest step in the characterful Borgo Panigale sports bikes with improvements in all areas of the bike: aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis, and even to the electronics.

The aim is to provide an even faster bike on the racetrack, one which is even more intuitive and accommodating for a wider range of riders.

Thanks to the introduction of some dedicated technical elements that allow an increase of power together with even more instant throttle response the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale MotoGP-derived engine is able to remain the heart of the bikes having undergone a series of updates.

Maximum power has been increased compared to the previous version now at 215.5 hp @ 13,000 rpm. The engine also delivers 123.6 Nm (12.6 kgm) of maximum torque @ 9,500 rpm and provides 80 per cent of the maximum torque from as low as 6,000 rpm.

The bikes now boasts an updated Power Mode strategy involving four engine configurations: Full, High, Medium, and Low. The Full and Low modes are newly developed, while the High and Medium Modes are retained from the previous model, now adopt a new strategy.

The brand-new Full Power Mode is the most extreme ever adopted on the bikes as it allows the engine to fully push its potential in every gear except the first and deliver a torque curve that is free from electronic filters.

Needless to say, Power Mode is recommended for use at racetracks with fast turns, long straights, and particularly high levels of grip.

The dashboard has also undergone various modifications. The first being the use of external LEDs similar to those on SBK bikes to indicate a gear change in place of the flashing rev counter. This reduces response times and improves the quality of feedback provided to the rider.

An additional Info Mode has also been introduced named Track Evo which was developed based on the suggestions of MotoGP riders.

It is an option added to the existing Road and Track screen settings. In this mode the tachometer moves on a horizontal scale positioned in the highest part of the display, which is the most visible, and the gear indicator is moved to the center of the screen.

Aesthetics and ergonomics of the bike have also received improvements. The distinctive graphic design conceived by the Ducati Centro Stile includes the black color logo application on the full red fairings, a unique red tag on black rims (V4S only), and the double fabric saddle (two-tone on the V4S).

The seat and tank has also received refinements with a view to improved ergonomics and control of the bike during all riding conditions.

Other new items are the Öhlins NPX 25/30 electronically controlled pressurized fork and 3-spoke forged aluminum alloy wheels (Panigale V4S) shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.

The 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 and V4S will be priced at RM145,900 and RM188,900 respectively.

Both are also included in the new Ducati Corse Credit Financing scheme which allows flexible repayment schemes, faster approval, an interest rate as low as 4.88 per cent, and a 10 per cent downpayment option.
