‘Red Notice is sufficient to hunt for Jho Low’

KUALA LUMPUR: The government is not planning to put up a reward for any information that can lead to the arrest of fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said a “red notice” issued by the Interpol was sufficient for that matter.

“It is better to use a red notice since it involves more accurate intelligence gathering and cooperation.

“This approach requires 195 (Interpol) member countries to channel any available information on Jho Low to Malaysia to facilitate an extradition,” Hamzah said in a written reply at the Dewan Rakyat today.

He was replying to a question by Lim Lip Eng (PH-Kepong) on whether the police were acting on claims by two journalists Tom Wright and Bradley Hope that Jho Low had been sighted in China and Hong Kong back in 2018, and why the government did not offer any reward for information that could lead to his capture.
