Nga hints at Anwar contesting in Tambun

IPOH: Perak PKR chairman Nga Kor Ming has hinted that Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will contest in the Tambun parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15)

“Perak is always having stiff competition (during general elections) and the secret to our success this time (GE15) is by having an international and prominent leader who can contest in Perak.

“We can build the corridor of hope. From Penang, Perak, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, this is the Pakatan Harapan corridor,” he said in his opening speech at PH Convention in Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC) here, today.

Nga said that if PH could run these four states and others such as Sabah, Sarawak, Pahang, and Perlis, Malaysia would be more harmonious, fair and integrity.

“Perak has produced popular leaders but we lack something, we have never had a prime minister from Perak. And this is our chance,” he added.

It was reported that Anwar, who is also the PKR president, is considering several parliamentary seats to contest in the upcoming GE15.

Anwar had said previously that apart from defending Port Dickson, he was weighing the possibility of contesting in Tambun.

The Tambun seat was held by Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who is Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president.
