Sabah PAS invites non-Muslims to join as associate members
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PAS is inviting non-Muslims to join as associate members in line with recent amendments to the party constitution.
Sabah PAS commissioner Dr Aliakbar Gulasan said this reflected the party’s maturity and inclusivity.
“It proves that PAS is not an extreme party,” he said on Tuesday (Sept 17).

Before the amendment to allow non-Muslims to join as associate members, made at the party’s 70th muktamar last week, PAS had a non-Muslim supporters group, he added.

He said PAS was ready to expand its network to the multi-ethnic and multi-religious people in Sabah.
He said the invitation to join was being extended in the interests of Sabah and for the nation’s progress.
“Islam prioritises peace and unity and celebrates a pluralistic society,” Aliakbar said.
