Money not an issue for iPhone fans
KUALA LUMPUR: The scene of people queueing up for iPhones as soon as they are made available in the country has been a norm.
Today, after two years of “absence” due to the Covid-19 pandemic, iPhone fans made their way to Apple authorised dealers as well as telecommunication partners, to get their hands on the new iPhone 14 series, which is officially available.
Based on our survey at Machines, KLCC this morning fans had started lining up to get their phones as early morning.
Queuing up since 10am, Nurul Ain Suhari (37) adamantly opted for the 14 Pro Max despite the exorbitant price.
“Aside from the new features and camera capabilities that the 14 Pro Max has to offer, I prefer high-end smartphones since we rarely buy them. It’s either go big or go home,” she said.
Despite the higher exchange rate between Malaysia Ringgit and US Dollar, the smartphones have gotten more expensive this year. But that doesn’t deter Nurul Ain from getting it.
“It’s expensive, but it’s worth it. The quality tallies with the price,” she added.
Meanwhile, Faizal Hamid (33), one of the persons in charge at Machines said that the demand for the iPhone 14 series has doubled compared to its predecessor, especially for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
“Taking photos and selfies has become a trend these days. Since Apple has launched new products with high-quality cameras that also cater to professional photographers, we don’t need to carry DSLR or big cameras anymore. Both iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are just as good,” he added.
Among the long line in front of the outlet, Alani Najah (21) chose the ‘affordable’ iPhone 14 Pro as a replacement for her rickety old one.
She said that it works best for someone her age.
“I can’t really afford the iPhone 14 Pro Max so the iPhone 14 Pro is good enough for me. The Action Mode will help me a lot when I run or jog and I don’t need to worry if something happens to me thanks to the Crash Detection feature,” said Alani.
“Of course, the iPhone 14 Pro is more expensive than the 13 Pro, but after much deliberation, it’s worth it,” she added.
