Tottenham Hotspur have just been linked with a move to sign a striker who ‘has more to his game’ than Erling Haaland.

Ange Postecoglou has completely transformed the club. The style of football is great, most of the players have improved and the atmosphere around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is excellent as well.

That makes Spurs an attractive club for top players, and they are now said to be targeting one such striker to sign this summer.

Tottenham looking to sign Premier League striker

Tottenham Hotspur have a solid squad, but they lack an out-and-out striker.

Harry Kane was their main man for years, but the England captain decided to leave Spurs and move to German champions Bayern Munich last summer.

Ange Postecoglou decided against signing a replacement for Kane. Skipper Heung-min Son and Richarlison have shared that role up front and both of them have done well.

However, Tottenham should bring in a new striker this summer, and they have now been linked with a move to sign Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.

The Magpies could be forced to sell their top players to avoid breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules this summer.

Isak is one of their most valuable assets, and The Sun claim that both Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in signing the Swede, who joined Newcastle for £63 million in 2022 (Sky Sports).

The report claims that Isak, who has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, is valued at an eye-watering £100 million.

Rio Ferdinand has made an interesting observation about Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak is a terrific striker, and he has been likened to the likes of Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic over the years.

The Swede, still only 24, has massive potential and many feel he has what it takes to make it at a big club.

Rio Ferdinand, who has played against some of the best strikers in Premier League history, has watched Isak many times, and he feels the Newcastle United star has more to his game than Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland.

“He’s doing well, potentially yeah he could be [the best striker aside from Erling Haaland in the Premier League],” Ferdinand said on FIVE in October 2023.

“He’s got more to his game than [Erling] Haaland. I’m not saying he’s anywhere near, he’s a different player, Haaland is a finisher he’s brutal.”
