Indonesian YouTubers slammed online for bringing six-month-old baby daughter on jetski and ATV rides

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 ― Parents are always encouraged to allow their children to have a lot of playtime.

However, an Indonesian YouTube couple were slammed for bringing their daughter along for potentially dangerous activities.

Indonesian YouTuber Ria Ricis drew backlash from online users when she shared videos of her taking her six-month-old baby daughter, Moana, on a jet ski and ATV (all-terrain vehicle) rides.

Posting vlogs during her New Years’ vacation in Bali last week, Ria and her husband Ryan took to social media to share the highlights of their holiday activities.

Social media users began to worry for their daughter’s safety after Ria posted videos of her husband holding onto her daughter whilst driving a jetski at high speeds.

Criticism continued when Ria shared another video of her carrying Moana whilst at the back of a bumpy ATV ride.

Online users accused Ria of using her daughter for ‘content’ and views.

“Is Moana using a float? What to do if she slips? Is it true that Kak Ricis has no anticipation for Moana’s security?” an online user wrote.

“For the sake of content, a child’s safety was sacrificed. There are many other safer ways to train a child’s courage,” another user commented.

Despite these comments, the 27-year-old mother reiterated in her video that she will continue protecting her daughter ‘24/7’.

The couple has a large following on Instagram where they currently post family-related content, many of them featuring Moana.

Ria and Ryan were married on November 12, 2021, they were blessed with Moana on July 26, 2022.
