JOHOR BARU: The Malaysia My Second Home programme (MM2H) needs to be improved in terms of policy, incentives and benefits so that it is not burdensome, says Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
His Majesty said improving the programme was important to make Malaysia one of the top destinations globally.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Sultan Ibrahim said he held an audience with Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing at Istana Bukit Serene here on Thursday (July 6) for almost two hours.
Meanwhile, Tiong said Sultan Ibrahim shared and conveyed his views and thoughts on MM2H.
“At the meeting with Sultan Ibrahim, His Majesty gave many good ideas and I am confident that these ideas can be implemented, as well as boost our tourism economy.
“I will discuss this with the Home Ministry and industry players regarding the improvement of MM2H as well as the views and advice from His Majesty,” he said.
He added all matters discussed during the audience will be presented as a proposal paper to the Cabinet next month.
