Former Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director dies
SHAH ALAM – Former Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Morni Mamat has died today at the Serdang Hospital.
He was 56.
The department’s current director, Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said Morni passed away at the hospital’s Coronary Treatment Unit (CCU) at 6.45 am.
“It is with regret that we inform that Morni has passed away at the Serdang Hospital this morning,” he said in a statement earlier.
Morni, who served in the department’s fire and rescue operations, was admitted to Serdang Hospital on Aug 19 due to a heart attack.

Meanwhile, the department said on its Facebook page that funeral details would be announced later.
“Together, we pray that the late Morni’s funeral will be without obstacles, that his soul be bestowed with a blessed passing by Allah, and that he be placed among the believers,” it said.
“It is with regret that we inform that Morni has passed away at the Serdang Hospital this morning,” he said in a statement earlier.
