KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is prepared to charge former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law Adlan Berhan with criminal breach of trust (CBT).

MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said the agency had wrapped up its investigation into the businessman, but had yet to trace his whereabouts.

“We have completed the investigation and are ready to charge him with CBT, but we have yet to trace his whereabouts,” he told reporters after officiating the 10th convocation ceremony for certified integrity officers at the World Trade Centre here.

Last year, an MACC source said the agency had been investigating the award of a lucrative contract to Adlan, centred around possible abuse of power in connection with the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).

Adlan was named in media reports in 2020 as a possible key player in the contract for the NIISe.

MACC was also tracking down Mansoor Saat, a lawyer, to facilitate the investigation.
