PETALING JAYA: The suspect involved in the recent shooting at KLIA’s Terminal 1 will be charged at the Kota Bharu magistrates’ court tomorrow.
Kelantan police chief Zaki Harun told Bernama the suspect was likely to be charged under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 and Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960.
Police had previously named the suspect as Hafizul Harawi, 38.
Zaki said the suspect would also be charged under Section 108(3)(f) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the National Registration Regulations 1990.
“The suspect will be charged at the Kota Bharu court tomorrow and will then be taken to the Sepang court for further charges,” said Zaki.

Last Tuesday, Hafizul was brought back from Kelantan to Selangor for further investigation.
He was flown to the police’s Air Operation Force base in Subang in a police aircraft from Kota Bharu, where he was nabbed the day before.
In the early morning incident on April 14, he allegedly fired two shots at his wife at the airport’s arrival hall but missed.
One of the shots hit her bodyguard, who is being treated in hospital.
