What happened to Gua Musang ‘furniture town’, asks BN rep
Galas assemblyman Syahbuddin Hashim at the project site for the proposed Gua Musang ‘furniture town’.

“Was the state government’s approval of this forest plantation land to the developer part of its commitment to the joint venture to make the furniture town a reality?

“I sincerely hope this furniture town will materialise, sooner or later.

“As the elected representative for Galas, I fear this project might fail, with only the forest plantation part of it becoming a reality under this developer,” he told a press conference in Bukit Cekati here today.
Shahbuddin said the project was supposed to commence in mid-2022..



He had queried about the delay in the Kelantan state assembly the same year and was informed that it was because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I am taking the opportunity to raise this issue through this press conference as the limited time I have during the Kelantan state assembly sitting does not permit me to speak up on this matter clearly,” he said,

He said the project, if implemented properly, could create up to 1,500 jobs.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the furniture town was conducted on Sept 10, 2020. The infrastructure cost of RM20 million was requested through the 12th Malaysia Plan.
