Anwar told me to get ready to return to work, says Maszlee
He said had spoken with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who told him to be prepared.
“He told me: ‘Just get ready, your sabbatical will soon be over!” said Maszlee, who did not reveal what role he would play in the government.
It is believed Maszlee met Anwar during a PKR central leadership committee meeting.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (Jan 8), Maszlee congratulated Anwar and said the PKR central leadership committee firmly supported him over reforms for the prosperity of the people and the country.
“PKR central committee members will ensure that the party remains relevant and remains the party of choice by the multiracial society of this country,” said Maszlee.
Maszlee who won the Simpang Renggam parliamentary seat in GE14 in 2018, was then appointed as education minister under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad
He resigned as education minister in January 2020.
In GE15, Maszlee lost the Simpang Renggam seat to Johor Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad.
