PETALING JAYA: Just over 6,000 votes separated Umno’s three new vice-presidents, Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Khaled Nordin and Johari Ghani, in yesterday’s party elections.

Wan Rosdy and Johari, both newcomers, collected the most popular votes as the three of them fended off five other challengers for the three positions of vice-president.

Wan Rosdy, who is Pahang menteri besar and state Umno chief, topped the list with the most delegate votes of 127, and also topped all the candidates with 52,202 votes from members.

Johari, who had reclaimed the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat in the 2022 general election, came second with 47,624 popular votes, despite finishing third among delegates with 110 votes.
