JOHOR BARU: Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi confirms there will be a reshuffle of the Johor executive committee after two years of his administration.

The Johor Mentri Besar said that an official announcement on the reshuffle of the state executive committee was expected to be made by next week.

“There will be a reshuffle of portfolios but it is only at a minimum level. We are doing this to make the state government affairs stronger,” he added.

Onn Hafiz said this when met after chairing a Johor Umno meeting held at its office here on Sunday (Feb 11).

On Wednesday (Feb 7), Onn Hafiz said he would be taking over the state tourism portfolio, which could indicate a reshuffle of the Johor executive committee.

During a Chinese New Year gathering with Chinese leaders at his official residence here, Onn Hafiz also told the crowd that he would be taking over the tourism portfolio.

“We just made slight changes to our portfolios. After this, I, as Mentri Besar, will take care of tourism,” he said.

On Tuesday (Feb 6), Johor Regent Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim granted an audience to Onn Hafiz and state secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani.

Photos of the meeting were posted on Tunku Ismail’s Facebook page, saying that various state-related matters were presented and discussed.
