King to visit flood forecasting and alert centre ahead of meeting with PM

KUALA LUMPUR: The King is scheduled to visit the National Floods Forecasting and Alert Centre ahead of his anticipated meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at 4pm today.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, is expected to arrive at the centre here 10.30am where he would be greeted by Water and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

It is learnt that the King would be seeking feedback on the forecasted weather in the coming weeks and months from Tuan Ibrahim and officials.



His Majesty’s meeting with Ismail, is scheduled to take place at Istana Negara.

Umno sources said the prime minister who is also party vice-president is likely to seek a dissolution.

Reports have indicated that Ismail might seek the King’s consent for the dissolution even before the tabling of the 2023 Budget.

However, it is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong who would have the final say on the matter.
