PKR will decide on whether to admit KJ into party when the time comes – Rafizi
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR’s leadership will have to decide whether to invite or allow former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin to join the party.
PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said the matter has not been brought up yet, and if and when it does, a decision will be made via consensus in the party.
“The matter (of Khairy joining PKR) has not arisen. When it does, certainly PKR needs to discuss the matter.
“However, it is not my decision alone,” he told reporters after attending a forum at the Parliament last night.
Rafizi said the party would continue to monitor any developments regarding the former Rembau member of parliament’s political future and review the situation when necessary.
Umno last night sacked Khairy and former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar as well as suspended several leaders, including Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, for “breaching party discipline during the 15th general election”.
In an immediate but brief response on his social media channels, Khairy informed that he had been sacked from the very party that he loved so much and was loyal to.
“Unbowed, unbent, unbroken,” he announced via a Facebook post and a tweet.
