KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has reminded senior police officers to treat their subordinates equally.
“I want to remind the heads to treat all district police chiefs, officers and personnel under them as people who wear ‘the blue uniform’.
“None should be seen as ‘my men’ or ‘your men’,” he said at the police college in Cheras today.
He also said there was no such thing as “the IGP’s men”, adding that “everyone is my man”.
Earlier, Acryl Sani witnessed the handover of duties between acting Selangor police chief S Sasikala Devi and the incoming chief, Hussein Omar Khan.
At a press conference after the ceremony, he said the “factions” culture cannot take place in the police force.
“There shouldn’t be discrimination and everyone has to speak as one voice,” he said.
He said there had been instances of factions being formed, but stressed that he would not allow the culture to take hold of the police force.
