Pelangai by-election: Voters to shift support, give signal to govt
SHAH ALAM – The green wave currently seen in election campaigns poses a factor for Malay voters to swing towards Perikatan Nasional (PN).
The sentiments of the public were seen as on the fence with the government and the opposition.
Pelangai state by-election candidate for PN Kasim Samat who said this in an interview with Sinar Harian was commenting on the green wave which have attracted 74 per cent of the Malay voters being a good opportunity for PN.
He said the green wave was not primarily a ‘Pas wave’, but it was from the public’s dissatisfaction towards issues they faced such as the rising cost of living and price hikes.
This he said was also a form of message to the government.

“The public especially those in the Pelangai state have expressed regret after choosing Barisan Nasional (BN) which had joined forces with DAP.
“They were shifting or giving signals to the government that the people were affected by 10 months of promises which have yet to be achieved and they are feeling the hardships now,” he said.
Kasim also said PN will be able to fulfil the promises they made to the people as seen in other states governed by PN.
“If PN truly could not fulfil its promises, there wouldn’t be support from the public especially those who are giving their trust to PN,” he said.
