‘Why would Datuk Seri Hamzah lie’ – Wan Ahmad Fayshal
SHAH ALAM – The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Armada (Youth) wing questions the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s denial of coercing and pressuring the Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament to declare support for the unity government.
Its chief, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said the claim which was initially voiced by Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin was the truth.
He added that this follows the understanding that the Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, had already met with Hamzah and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, to file a complaint.
Wan Fayshal, who is also the Machang Member of Parliament added that he would be leaving the matter to Hamzah and Iskandar Dzulkarnain themselves to reveal the truth behind the allegations.
“I am confident that the statement made by the secretary-general is true, surely Datuk Seri Hamzah would not be telling lies.

“Moreover, this is not the first time MACC has acted like this [putting pressure on opposition MPs].
“If MACC wants to deny it, let them… But we are confident in what we heard firsthand (from Iskandar Dzulkarnain),” he said when contacted by Sinar.
Wan Fayhsal was commenting on MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki’s statement denying the involvement of the commission in pressuring Iskandar to express support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, Bersatu information chief, Datuk Razali Idris, also believed that Hamzah had strong evidence to show that MACC had indeed, indirectly involved in exerting political pressure on the Kuala Kangsar MP.
Hamzah had voiced his conjecture on Friday, claiming that Iskandar was pressured by the government into supporting Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.
He, who is also the opposition leader, urged the government to “cease the abuse of power and intimidation against MPs”, saying such action runs contrary to the principles of democracy.
