Wan Rezaudeen Kamal Abidin was buried with full military honours at the Raudhatul Sakinah Muslim Cemetery.

GOMBAK: Helicopter pilot Wan Rezaudeen Kamal Abidin of the Royal Malaysian Navy was buried with full military honours at the Raudhatul Sakinah Muslim Cemetery here at 9.50pm.

His remains were brought from the Salahuddin Al Ayyubi Mosque after prayers by the public and RMN personnel, arriving at the cemetery at 9.25pm.

Almost a thousand people, including family members, RMN personnel and Wan Rezaudeen’s acquaintances were present to pay their last respects.

Earlier at 6pm, prayers and final respects were held for the eight Muslim victims at the 23rd Royal Malay Regiment camp in Ipoh, Perak. The remains were then handed to their respective families for burial.

 

 

 



 

Ten people died in the collision between two RMN helicopters at the naval base in Lumut yesterday. The incident happened during a third rehearsal for a fly-past as part of the navy’s 90th anniversary celebration, scheduled to be held this Saturday.

Bernama reported that the burials of two other victims from Perak were completed as of 9.25pm.

Shahrizan Termizi was buried at the Batu 10 Lekir Muslim Cemetery near Lumut, after his remains were brought to his father’s house in Taman Bunga Tanjung, Lekir, for family members to pay their last respects.

Shahrizan was laid to rest after another prayer was held at the Al-Khairiah Batu 10 Mosque, in a ceremony attended by more than 500 people comprising family members and local residents.



Meanwhile, the body of Noorfarahimi Saedy arrived at the Jalan Ulu Nor Muslim Cemetery in Sungai Bayor, Selama, at around 7.40pm and was buried at around 9pm.

About 500 people consisting of family members, Noorfarahimi’s acquaintances, and RMN personnel were present.

In Kedah, Noor Rahiza Anuar, 39, was laid to rest with full military honours at the Masjid Haji Nyak Gam Muslim Cemetery in Kampung Ruat, in Yan, at 9.55pm.

Earlier, the deceased’s body was taken to her family home in Taman Perumahan Awam 2, near Yan, at 8.40pm to enable family members and friends to pay their last respects.

She is survived by her husband and four children, aged between six and 16, including a pair of twins.

Another victim, Muhammad Faisol Tamadun, 36, was laid to rest at the Sik Dalam Muslim Cemetery at approximately 10.10pm.



He was buried with full military honours next to the grave of his mother, Fatimah Abdullah, who passed away in August last year.

His eldest sister, Noryani Tamadun, 50, expressed her gratitude for the arrangements made to bring her brother’s body home.

“The military has been here since 4pm preparing for the arrival of his body… thank you to everyone who helped facilitate the burial arrangements,” Bernama quoted her telling reporters.

Faisol, who was the youngest of four siblings, leaves behind a wife, Nor Syuhada Jamil, 37, and two daughters aged six and 10.

The remains of T Sivasutan, 31, meanwhile, arrived at his family’s residence in Taman Serdang Jaya in Sitiawan at 5.52pm.

According to the strategic communications branch of the naval headquarters, Sivasutan’s remains will be cremated tomorrow in Sitiawan.

Another victim, Joanna Felicia Rohna, is expected to be buried at Kampung Engkaroh Tebakang in Serian, Sarawak, tomorrow.
