Senior citizen killed as car catches fire
PETALING JAYA – A senior citizen was killed in a fire involving four vehicles in a parking lot in Desa Mentari near here on Saturday.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said a team of firemen from the Jalan Penchala Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene of the incident after receiving a distress call at 2.45am.
“The fire involved four vehicles – a Ford Telstar which was completely burned, Naza Citra (50 per cent), Proton Wira (five per cent) and a Daihatsu lorry (five per cent).
“There was a local man in his 60s who was in the Naza Citra which was razed in fire,” he said on Saturday.
He added that the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
