SHAH ALAM – The influence of other Malay parties in the ruling coalition has considerably waned to the point that forthcoming clashes will primarily revolve between Pas and DAP.
The claim was made by Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah who said that the clout of other Malay parties in the Unity Government were seen diminishing and could no longer “carry the people’s hope.”
In fact, he even claimed that as result of weakening clout, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was ruling on borrowed time and that the clock had already been ticking.
“Political analysts believed that his rule will likely last within three terms.
“His dream (to be Prime Minister) has become a reality but it will not last much longer,” said Mohd Amar when officiating the 62nd Pas Central Ulama Muktamar at a convention centre, here, today.

He said that this can be observed in the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government after ruling the country for a mere 22 months.
“In the 15th General Election, Pas and Perikatan Nasional (PN) should have been able to lead the government, but it has been temporarily postponed to allow for better preparations.
“However, many believe that the 16th General Election will be the best time for Pas and PN to return to governing the country,” he said.
Also present were the Central Ulama Council chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya, deputy chief Zulkifli Ismail, and vice president Ustaz Khirul Muntaruzar Ismail.
