KUALA LUMPUR: Two brothers and their friend were charged at the Sessions Court, here, today with committing gang robbery with a hammer on a Bangladeshi petrol station worker in February.

Muhammad Nasrul Wafiy Harizan, 32, and his brother Muhammad Khairul Anuar, 30; along with Dzulkifli Ahmad, 36, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out before judge Datin Fadzlin Suraya Mohd Suah.

The trio was accused of robbing the 49-year-old victim and caused losses of RM5,500 consisting 17 boxes of cigarettes, damaged mirror and cash at the premises in Jalan Ipoh, Sentul at 4.16am on Feb 6.



The charge under Section 395 of the Penal Code, read with Section 397 of the same Act provides a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping if found guilty.

In the same court, the brothers and another friend, Syazwan Sazali, 34, claimed trial to committing gang robbery on a 17-year-old girl in front of a school in Jalan Jambu Jinjang Selatan, Sentul at 2.20pm on March 24.

Deputy public prosecutor Nidzuwan Abd Latip appeared for the prosecution while counsel Arief Firdaus Ashikin stood for the brothers.

The court allowed bail of RM12,000 with one surety for each of the siblings.



Dzulkifli and Syazwan, who were unrepresented, was allowed RM6,000 bail with one surety each. May 7 was fixed for mention.
