SHAH ALAM – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has slammed Selangor FC for failing to advance to the semi-finals of the Malaysia Cup despite receiving RM45 million in funding from the state government over the past eight years.
“RM45 million of government money every year. Eight years, nothing achieved, just a self-scam.
“Eight years of mocking the old management but claiming their success.
“Eight years of boasting. Eight years of complacency. Eight years of throwing stones and hiding hands, eight years of creating hype, and when they fail, pretending to be victims made by others.
“Eight years of mismanaging government funds through scams. If the head is wrong, the tail is also wrong,” Tunku Ismail, also known as TMJ said on his Instagram story today.
The Red Giants, on a mission to win their 34th championship, lost 1-3 on aggregate to Terengganu FC in the quarter-finals.
Tunku Ismail also blamed the Selangor FC management for the failure.
“The management makes all the decisions and signs the players, so why blame the coach?”
“Use your brains. It’s even worse when the owner doesn’t know anything about football,” he added.
Selangor last won the Malaysia Cup in 2015.
