Activist Chegubard lodges MACC report over RM10 billion scandal linked to Selangor MB

Political activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday regarding a scandal within the administration of Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari involving land worth RM10 billion.

He said the report was accompanied by a 200-page document, including those of a classified nature.

“Among them are five state government council meeting documents and agreements between Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd and Berjaya Land Bhd, owned by business tycoon Vincent Tan.

“Through the submitted documents, it is evident that various technical and moral wrongdoings have taken place,” he said at a press conference today.

Badrul also urged the Selangor state government to change the status of the documents and make them public.

Lumayan Berjaya Foundation Sdn Bhd, a company owned by Menteri Besar Incorporated with a 45% stake and Berjaya Land with a 55% stake, gained attention after being awarded a RM700 million project to clean the Klang River.

Amirudin and executive council member Izham Hashim are board members of the company.

According to Badrul, based on ownership percentages, Amirudin’s claim that the company is a subsidiary of the state government is false.

“Vincent Tan is involved in the company, but based on the latest findings this morning, I believe that due to the attacks, Vincent Tan has exited the company,” he said.

Amirudin recently sent a letter of demand to Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who commented on the scandal in a recent speech in Kedah.

Previously, MalaysiaNow reported that Selangor would sell the majority of shares and hundreds of acres of government-owned land to Tan’s company as a solution to a debt involving a RM10 billion project.

The project, called Selangor Maritime Gateway, involves a 56-km stretch along the Selangor River.

Meanwhile, Badrul said that the documents submitted to MACC are complete.

“This time, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki does not need to beat around the bush because the officers have stamped the documents, and I have received the report number,” he said.
