Selangor Umno dismisses KJ, Noh Omar’s views on state polls
Selangor Umno chief Megat Zulkarnain Omardin says no one can accurately predict the chances of a party because every election has different sentiments and dynamics.

PETALING JAYA: Selangor Umno is not concerned with the views expressed by former party leaders who predict that Barisan Nasional’s (BN) chances of winning the state election are slim.

“Then in the 15th general election (GE15) we were unsuccessful. That shows no one can predict what will happen in any election because the polls are very dynamic,” he told FMT.

On Feb 6, Noh and Khairy claimed that the chances of a candidate from Umno winning even one seat in the state election were slim following the “green wave” of Perikatan Nasional (PN) in GE15 which saw Umno fail to win a parliamentary seat in Selangor.

Noh and Khairy were sacked by Umno on Jan 27 for breaching party discipline during GE15.

Megat Zulkarnain says Umno will remain the “underdog” in Selangor, having won only four seats in the last state polls.

In GE14, BN won four seats – Sungai Tawar (Rizam Ismail), Sungai Burong (Shamsudin Lias), Hulu Bernam (Rosni Sohar) and Sungai Panjang (Imran Tamrin).
