KUALA LUMPUR – Actress Puteri Sarah says she could not wait to be freed from her marriage with husband Syamsul Yusof to move on with her peaceful life.
The 38-year-old actress said she only wanted freedom and asked for all parties to pray for her affairs to go smoothly.
She arrived at the Federal Territories Syariah Court Complex here at 9.20am clad in all white as a symbol of her st arting her new life.
“I hope Syamsul will go through with the divorce and if it fails I will provide the reason later,” Sarah said.
The court previously set the date for the divorce pronouncement in front of Syariah Judge Akmaluddin Ilyas at 11am.

It was reported that the pair must attend the sulh (dispute) session scheduled at 9am before the divorce case proceedings two hours after.
On April 10, the Federal Territories Lower Syariah Court here decided that the divorce proceedings will continue, after the pair reached an agreement to divorce on good terms.
However, the terms of the settlement will only be announced later including hadanah, nusyuz, mutaah, alimony, idah and marital property.
Syamsul was represented by Syariah lawyer Azmi Mohd Rais while Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader represented Sarah.
For the record, Syamsul and Sarah have been married from March 8, 2014, and have two children Syaikhul Islam, 6, and Sumayyah, 4.

Their marital crisis began garnering attention four years ago, but the son of Datuk Yusof Haslam had never spoken about the matter.
On Jan 6, Syamsul had kept his promise to put an end to the mystery of his relationship with actress Ira Kazar when he admitted to marrying her in Thailand.
The Lu Pikirlah Sendiri de Movie actress Sarah then filed a divorce with Syamsul on Jan 16 through Messrs Akberdin & Co.
Syamsul arrived at the court clad in a grey jacket at 9.50am and refused to make any statements.
“I came to read the pledge, we’ll see how it goes, I have no further comments,” he said.
