Letters of demand sent to Chegubard, J-Kom director over lewd video recording
PETALING JAYA: Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, a junior government officer at the centre of an alleged lewd video recording, has sent letters of demand to two men for circulating the video.
Wahab’s lawyer, Faizal Rahman, said the letters were sent to Bersatu member Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as blogger Chegubard, and Hakim Ramlee, the education and training division director of the community communications department (J-Kom).
“The letter of demand is linked to the circulation of a purported lewd conversation involving individuals resembling former J-Kom director-general Agus Yusoff and Wahab,” Faizal told FMT.
He did not reveal if his client, an assistant office of J-Kom, was seeking an apology or damages.
According to Sinar Harian, Wahab has put forward eight demands, including the removal of all videos that were submitted, the deletion of edited videos, and to cease creating, publishing, or causing any videos that are insulting and defamatory.

An undisclosed amount of compensation was also demanded.
The letter also disclosed the role played by Hakim in the controversy of the viral video.
It said the circulation of the edited video had portrayed Wahab as being involved in immoral activities or homosexuality; being in a homosexual relationship with a superior officer; being part of a government that encourages homosexual activities; of not being a good Muslim, and being an immoral public servant.
Faizal said Badrul and Hakim were given 48 hours to respond to the demands.
Asked if “Mr H” would also be served a letter of demand, Faizal declined to comment, saying it was entirely up to the police to reveal the identity of “Mr H”.

Hakim had previously denied that he was the “Mr H”, who Wahab said had pressured him to record a video call with Agus.
Last month, a three-minute-long recording showing a video call between a man allegedly resembling Agus and another person went viral on social media.
Agus claimed the video had been edited and has lodged a police report.
Wahab, who is also the vice-chairman of Hulu Langat PKR Youth, had earlier this month claimed he was sexually harassed by Agus.
An investigation into the video is being carried out by Bukit Aman’s classified crime investigation unit.
