Apologise or face legal action, Tajuddin warns ‘Azwan Bro’
IPOH: New Pasir Salak Umno chief Khairul Azwan Harun needs to offer a public apology to me or I will take legal action against him, says Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
The former Pasir Salak MP said Khairul Azwan has one week to issue a public apology.
“I have hired a legal team and they have written to Khairul Azwan to apologise and retract his statement.
“If he fails to do so, not only will I take legal action, my friends and I will lodge a report with Umno’s disciplinary board,” he told reporters at a press conference at Impiana Hotel, here Sunday (June 18).
On Wednesday (June 14), it was reported that Khairul, who is better known as “Azwan Bro”, wants the Umno supreme council to reject Tajuddin’s appeal, claiming the former Pasir Salak Umno chief continued to tarnish the image of the party leadership.

Last year in June, Tajuddin was removed from the Umno supreme council before the council suspended his membership for six years in October.
He was also dropped as Malaysia’s ambassador to Indonesia in July, 2022.
Tajuddin said Khairul, who was elected as the new Pasir Salak Umno division chief, is arrogant and does not qualify to be a party’s division leader.
“His actions show that he wanted to remove me as a party member. The way he acted may divide the party members, especially in the Pasir Salak division.
“I have done a lot for the party. During the 15th General Election (GE15), even though I was not a candidate, I kept on campaigning for Umno.
“I sacrificed my money, energy and time. I gave my money to the party’s machinery; they spent it on fuel and food. It was more than RM1mil, what else do you want?
“Even Khairul Azwan didn’t do that,” he said.
In GE15, Khairul Azwan lost to Jamaluddin Yahya (PN-PAS) in the Pasir Salak parliamentary seat by a 5,003-vote majority.
On March 18, during the Pasir Salak Umno division election, Khairul Azwan contested against Tajuddin’s eldest son Dr Faizal Tajuddin for the division chief’s position and won.
Prior to Khairul Azwan’s win, Tajuddin was in the position for 19 years, from 2004.
