SHAH ALAM – Umno Puteri chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi has refuted allegations of vindictive politics by the current government, highlighting the Unity Government’s commitment to the people’s well-being across all states, irrespective of political control.

According to Nurul Amal, the Unity Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim always prioritises the well-being of the people, regardless of whether they are in government-administered states or in opposition-held ones.

“Various accusations and claims are being thrown at the government today, which is all part of politics and will never end.

“In Kelantan, we have two government assembly members represented by BN (Barisan Nasional) and Amanah.

“Why don’t the Pas government set a good example by treating the opposition at the state government level fairly and justly like the other assemblymen?” she said when contacted by Sinar.

Previously, Pas Youth Chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden alleged that the government’s vindictive political attitude is a significant challenge for him as he assumes leadership within the party’s youth wing.

The Alor Setar MP said such an attitude can be seen through selective allocation and treatment, which hinders the opposition’s efforts to provide the best for the people.

Meanwhile, the Umno youth chief, Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, said that development allocations for each Parliament constituency from the central government are still being distributed as usual.

The Merlimau state assemblyman gave an example that the government continues to allocate RM1.5 billion to the Kelantan state government to address the long-standing water issue.

“So there is no excuse if opposition-held areas lack development.

“Allocations to Parliament constituencies are still in place because development allocations are still distributed through agencies.

“The lack of allocations by Parliament members is not an excuse not to work for the people in their respective areas,” he said.
